In Prague on 13th of February 2015 from 10am Czech Women's Lobby and the Czech Women's Union organized a press conference on the occasion of the end of worldwide campaign One Billion Rising - as the biggest mass action to end violence against women in human history. It is also a fight for gender equality and justice. On the other hand, the press conference launched a new campaign for signing the Istanbul Convention by Czech Republic authorities. We were glad that concern of media was palpable and it really had opened the door for other activities supporting Istanbul Convention.
Moreover we announced a photo campaign on our Facebook profile with a call on people to take photos on the occasion of global campaign One billion rising and as well for launching a campaign for signing the Istanbul Convention with an inscription which says: "We stand against violence against women" or # ZaIstanbul. Besides of the member organizations we were honoured that our photo campaign was joined by Minister for Human Rights, Equal Opportunities and legislation of Czech republic Mgr. Jiri Dienstbier.
