The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MoLSA) was established in 1990. The Open Society Fund Prague operates in the Czech Republic since 1992 as part of an international network of foundations founded and supported by the American financier and philanthropist George Soros. During his tenure he has spent more than 1 billion crowns (divided into roughly 9,000 grants) to support activities aiming at developing an open society and democracy. Foundation programs are focused on strengthening the role of law, civil sector development, human rights, public health, education and international cooperation. Open Society Fund has also supported organisations dedicated to the fight against corruption, strengthening of transparency of public administration, defense, public interest and seeking equal opportunities for men and women and increasing women's political participation. Více...
