Why is it necessary to implement prepaid alimonies?

The government is taking steps to support families, as these measures benefit everyone, including single parents and their children. We namely appreciate the tax depreciation increase, the introduction of children groups and the possibility to deduct preschool education costs from the tax base etc. These steps have convinced us that the government is mindful of children growing up in single-parent families and that it will support the legislation on prepaid alimonies. Single parents and their children require specific support. The Czech Republic may not be at large risk of poverty, but it is precisely single-parent families who are most frequently affected: up to 47% of these families are at risk of income poverty, 18% are at risk of hardship [1].
