Midwife. In 1992 she completed a two-month study stay in Denmark. She later participated in the preparation and implementation of the Center for Active Childbirth at the Bulovka Hospital in Prague. As part of a project approved by the Open Society Fund Prague and then the Fontanela project supported by EU funds, Ivana worked to create a model workplace for comprehensive, individual, and standard care for women, children and the whole family. During her professional practice, she participated in many seminars, courses and international conferences at home as well as abroad. Since 1997, she has served as the President of ČAPA (Czech Association of Midwives). After the transformation of ČAPA, she founded UNIPA (Union of Midwives), where she was President. Currently, she is vice-president of UNIPA. In the context of the Czech Republic's accession to the EU, she participated in the creation of comparable conditions for the practice of the profession and the position of Czech midwives in society. Closely related to this are her legislative activities and her efforts to ensure women and children's care in the Czech Republic follows the WHO recommendations.
