As part of the Women<\/span> in Climate<\/span> project, the\u00a0Portuguese Platform for Women<\/span>\u2019s Rights (PpDM)<\/a>\u00a0invites you to participate in the event Women<\/span> & Climate<\/span>: The Voice and Action of Women<\/span> for a Green Transition. The event is promoted by the Portuguese Platform for Women<\/span>\u2019s Rights (PpDM), in partnership with\u00a0Business as Nature (BasN)<\/a>, and co-organised by Coimbra’s Municipality.<\/p>\n

This initiative is part of a European project coordinated by the European Women<\/span>\u2019s Lobby, with funding from the European Union through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV).<\/p>\n

The event aims to mobilise a network of local, national, and European organisations and stakeholders, in order to identify obstacles, good practices, and recommendations that contribute to a just, inclusive, and gender-responsive climate<\/span>transition.<\/p>\n

During the morning Conference, \u201cFor a Green Transition with Equality: Recommendations for Portugal and Europe\u201d, discussions will be guided by the results of a survey carried out within the project, with a particular focus on the Portuguese context. The survey collected insights from key stakeholders, highlighting priority issues, legislative gaps, and innovative practices.<\/p>\n

In this way, the event seeks to fulfil the central objective of Women<\/span> in Climate<\/span>: to promote the integration of a gender perspective into public policies and practices related to climate<\/span> and the environment, at both national and European level, while recognising the differentiated impacts of climate<\/span> change on women<\/span> and girls, especially those living in more vulnerable contexts.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, the event will feature the National Meeting of the Guardians of Nature Network, an initiative of BasN, a PpDM member organisation, which acknowledges the vital role of women<\/span> in biodiversity conservation, in the sustainable development of rural areas, and in shaping transformative climate<\/span> solutions rooted in local knowledge and collective action.”<\/p>\n
