Summer picnic of the Czech Women´s Lobby Network

Summer picnic of the Czech Women´s Lobby Network

18. 8. 2020

On a warm summer evening in August, the Czech Women´s Lobby met with its two member organizations SIMI and Roma women group Manushe from Slovo21 for a joined outdoor picnic at the Kotlaska community centre. Around thirty women from different backgrounds came together with the same goal: to connect with each other and enjoy the evening.

The three organizations gathered together as part of the project Invisible power which is focused on marginalized groups of women in the Czech republic, mainly Roma and migrant women who shared their stories through music and storytelling.

The project aims to tackle anti-gypsyism, xenophobia, racism in all its forms as well as address prejudice held against Roma and migrant women, thereby strengthening integration and acceptance. This has been done through networking, raising awareness, advocacy and capacity building activities.

The picnic was organized as part of the project Invisible power, co-financed by the EVZ Foundation  “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” and with a grant from the USA embassy in Prague.
