CWL issued Shadow report on gender equality in Czech republic

Shadow Report on the gender equality in the Czech Republic was issued in a year 2015. It passed 20 years since signation of Beijng Platform for Action of UN. This platform set up 12 critical areas which are disadvantageous for women comparing to men, applying worldwide. Most of them concerns Czech society as well. Gender unequality is caused by deep stereotypes, which are grounded in people´s minds as well as they are embodied in social institutions that are arcades of our society.

When we compare current situation with situation 20 years ago, the change is noticable. Many projects introducing and strenghtening gender equality were realized. A lot of changes took place past seven years and  these years are evaluated by our shadow report.

Shadow Report contains 17 chapters dealing with following areas:

  • Labour Market and Employment Policy

  • Education

All chapters answers four basic questions:

1. What developments occurred in the area since issuing last shadow report in 2008 ?

2. What pros are important to preserve in the evaluated area ?

3. What cons should be changed in the evaluated area ?

4. Which measures are recommended to take to improve gender equality in the evaluated area?
